Fresh flowers in a vase, care tips for Dubai's climate

How to Make Fresh Flowers Last Longer in Dubai's Climate

Dubai's climate, hot outdoors and dry, air-conditioned indoors, can shorten the life of fresh flowers if you're not prepared. Here's how to help your bouquet last the full 7-14 days.

1. Keep Them Away From Direct Heat

Avoid placing bouquets near windows with direct sun, air-conditioning vents, or heat-generating appliances. Consistent, moderate room temperature extends vase life significantly.

2. Trim the Stems

Cut stems at a 45-degree angle every two to three days. This keeps the stem's water-absorbing surface fresh and prevents blockages.

3. Change the Water Regularly

Dubai's tap water and warmer indoor temperatures can accelerate bacterial growth in vase water. Replace the water every one to two days and rinse the vase each time.

4. Use Flower Food

Most Flower Point arrangements come with a flower food sachet. Add it as instructed. It balances the water's pH and provides the sugars flowers need.

5. Mist Delicate Blooms

Hydrangeas, roses and other thirsty blooms benefit from a light misting in air-conditioned rooms, where humidity is often very low.

6. Remove Wilting Blooms Promptly

Wilting flowers release ethylene gas, which speeds up the aging of the blooms around them. Removing them keeps the rest of the arrangement fresher for longer.

With the right care, a Flower Point bouquet delivered in Dubai should stay fresh and vibrant for one to two weeks. Explore our full range of fresh flowers for your next order.
